Canadian Friends of Finland 20th Anniversary Celebration

At the Scandinavian Centre in Burnaby.

 

Irene McCutcheon, founding member and former president, will share her memories and history of the CFF. 

Maria Mannisto, soprano singer, will perform songs by Sibelius, Kilpinen and Toivo Kuula, arias by Mozart and Donizetti and a composition by Douglas Moore as well as a selectin of some other favourites including Finnish folksong and tangos. She will be accompanied by multi-talented Joseph Schulz on piano and guitar.

Maria is an opera singer, concert soloist, pianist and organist. The 2007 Finlandia Foundation Performer of the Year, Maria directs the Finnish Choral Society of Seattle, and is the primary organist at the Finnish Lutheran Church.
