Päätalo (The Novelist) 2008

Too much hard work, too little love in his marriage and his lack of self-esteem prevent Päätalo from fulfilling his life-long dream of becoming a writer--until he finds a new love….

Kalle Päätalo, one of the most successful Finnish authors, wrote  over 39 novels including the 26-volume "Iijoki" autobiographical series. The film covers the period 1951-57 and sees Päätalo moving to Tampere, where his ambitions and accomplishments fully flower.

Kai Lehtinen stars-- as the author, Hannu Kahakorpi directs.

Final fundrais­ing event for the book and the doc­u­men­tary depict­ing the mem­o­ries of Finnish War Vet­er­ans.

Mari Pet­znek will perform.

Admis­sion by dona­tion. Finnish mil­i­tary M/29 Field Kitchen will be in full action mak­ing pea soup avail­able, soup and bread $5.
